The task force of the canton of Thurgau asked if they could borrow the LightCycler 480 of the Institute of Anatomy, a laboratory device, which can be used for the production of coronavirus tests.

The demand for these tests increased dramatically due to the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The tests are essential for the correct diagnosis of patients and for following the spread of the new virus. The supply with devices for the production of test swabs, such as our LightCycler 480, became a bottleneck.

We organized in cooperation with the canton of Thurgau the loan of our equipment to a company qualified for the execution of coronavirus tests. We are happy to help out in this special situation.
