Fix "Unable to connect to the server"

 

On Windows systems there might occur the error "Unable to connect to the server" in the Citrix Workspace app and the button "Try again" does not solve the problem.

 

 

To fix this error, please follow these steps:

  • On the Windows taskbar, in the lower right corner, near the clock, select the up arrow.
  • Right-click on the Citrix Workspace app icon
    • If Citrix Workspace app is not launched, the Citrix Workspace app icon will not be visible, start Citrix Workspace app first via start menu
  • Select "Sign In..."
  • A logon window will appear, login with your Anatomy account. Problem should be solved.
     

Reset Citrix Workspace App (Windows)

 

This guide shows how to reset the Citrix Workspace app to factory defaults. It will delete all settings and configurations of the Citrix Workspace app like stored configurations and window settings.

  • on the Windows taskbar, in the lower right corner, near the clock, select the up arrow.
  • Right-click on the Citrix Workspace app icon
    • If Citrix Workspace app is not launched, the Citrix Workspace app icon will not be visible, start Citrix Workspace app first via start menu
  • Select "Advanced Preferences":

 

 

 

  • Click on "Reset Citrix Workspace" and respond "Yes" when prompted to confirm your choice
    • After resetting you will need to add an Citrix store again
    • Anatomy Citrix store URL is: cx.anatomy.uzh.ch

 

 

Reset Citrix Workspace App (Mac)

 

On Mac you need to uninstall Citrix Workspace app via the Citrix installer file (and not via OS uninstall function) and install it again afterwards.

  • Therefore you need to open the .dmg file of the Citrix App and select Uninstall Citrix Workspace App. Please follow the on-screen instructions. If you no longer have the .dmg file, you can download it again from Citrix.
