Christian Stockmann started as an assistant professor at the Institute of Anatomy in September 2017. He was promoted to associate professor ad personam in August 2024.
His research group aims to decipher how immune cell-driven angiogenesis affects organ remodeling during tissue hypoxia.
Christian Stockmann received his MD at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, in 2006. He subsequently went as a postdoctoral fellow to the University of California, in San Diego, USA. In 2009 he returned to the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany where he was appointed as an assistant professor for Molecular Physiology at the Institute of Physiology. In 2012 he started working as an Inserm Research Associate and Atip-Avenir team leader at the Paris Cardiovascular Research Center at European Hospital Georges Pompidou, in Paris, France.
